The Story

The ImageSpa 631 is no longer manufactured. While this guide is specific to the 631 model, it may also provide applicable to other ImageSpa models .

"Relax your mind and body in the comfort of your very own Image 631 spa. Let the 31 hydrotherapy jets, the Power Massage jet and the High Power Volcano jet massage your stress away. This beautiful blue quarite spa seats six and offers you the added benefit of a lounge seat. This UL certified spa features a maintenance free all weather surround, an energy efficient Artic-Lock insulation design, a hard, marine grade vinyl tapered cover with locking buckles and cover lift, 4.0 Horsepower pump and a 2.0 horsepower pump. The water capacity is 295 gallons. All Image spas are 240V and require a licensed electrician to install. pressure switch

Inside of heater core. May be damaged in a freeze-up as ours was.

temp sensor

Inside of tub. On this model the hi-limit and temp sensors are shipped bundled to a single harness.

Replacement part seems to be Balboa part #30352 96in 3/8 m7 blk con .

hi limit sensor

Sensor inside of heater core. Shuts down system when temp hits approximately 113F.

To replace, use Balboa part #32016 which includes:

10060: Nut sensor Mount 1/4 Mill7

21481 Washer .265 x .500 x .031

22759 Instructions

21500 O-Ring sensor mount 1/4

filter cartridge

The filter is a Pleatco PIC50 Either the new or old model will work, though it seems that the new model is larger and fits better inside of the filter jacket.

Specific information: Pleatco PIC50 filter cartridge. 50 SF Top load spa filter. Replacement for Icon Part # 179192. 2 3/8" Bottom Hole PLPIC50NEW

Both filter-depot.com and poolnyard.com stock these filters.

balboa controls

This spa incorporates a lower-end balboa control system which is quite easy to work with.

Codes and Diagnostics

• pd = Power supply, unit running on battery backup
• OH = Sensors reading 112-118 Degrees
• Flo = Improper flow or pressure switch malfunction
• Cool = Water temp 20 degrees below set point
• ICE = Potential freeze condition has been detected
• Sn1 = Hi-limit sensor malfunction
• Sn3 = Temp sensor malfunction
• ILOC = Interlock failure - possible pump or ozone spike
